Nissan JUKE 'represents£57 million car finance facility investment'
26/08/2010
The Nissan JUKE car represents £57 million of car finance investment in the manufacturer's Sunderland plant.
The arrival of the model has also ensured that 1,100 jobs at the facility have been safeguarded, as well as a possible 2,000 additional posts across its supply base.
According to the producer, the motor takes the best attributes of an SUV and a sports car and more than 22,500 pre-orders have been taken across Europe.
Car finance customers might be encouraged to hear that the vehicle will be released in Europe next month and the Sunderland plant expects to produce 100,000 units each year.
Trevor Mann, senior vice-president of manufacturing for Europe at the company, said the Nissan JUKE is a breath of fresh air within the small car segment.
Earlier this month, the manufacturer recommended its Nissan Note vehicle to car finance buyers after making exterior changes to the model, which is available in a 1.4 and 1.6-litre engine format.
