Eco-car finance seekers may be impressed with Saab 9-3 figures
09/09/2010
Eco-friendly car finance customers might be interested to note that the Saab 9-3 range can produce CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
This is due to the twin turbo diesel engines in the vehicles which also produce a combined cycle fuel consumption of 62.8 mpg and, with a manual transmission, ensures the motors are tax-exempt for vehicle excise duty.
To achieve these results, Saab carried out an 18-month programme which targeted a 12 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Efficiency measures that have been introduced include low rolling resistance tyres, improved aerodynamics and revision of the torque converter for the automatic transmission.
In addition, gear rations have been changed to match new power and torque characteristics and there is a decreased weight due to lighter construction.
Other models that may encourage eco-car finance deals include the Vauxhall Ampera after its appearance at an event devised by the Prince of Wales to encourage sustainable living.
