Car buyer's guide What Car? will unveil the winners of its first ever Green Awards at the British International Motor Show.
After being inundated with request for information on green cars, What Car? put a range of vehicles through their paces in ten different environmentally-friendly categories.
The popular magazine will announce an overall Green Car of the Year at the leading London motor show this month.
Steve Fowler, What Car? group editor, said: "With increasing environmental concerns among car buyers, not to mention green taxes and spiralling fuel costs, the time is right for a recognised Green Awards."
And car loan customers looking for an eco-friendly motor can rest assured that as well as judging the cars put forward on the environmental credentials, What Car? will be picking cars that are "great to own and run, without any compromises".
People looking for car credit for a new car may be interested to know that Fiat and Mini are the only car manufacturer to keep their average CO2 emissions below 140g/km, according to Clean Green Cars.
