Car loans customers with preconceptions about automobiles that carry the Cadillac badge may be surprised by the manufacturer's CTS model.
Jason Dawe of the Sunday Times suggests that the brand "conjures up images of car bonnets the size of table tennis tables, burbling V8 engines and never-ending American highways," but adds that this is defied by the new executive saloon.
Mr Dawe states that the car, which he claims is available for a price to rival the BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes models more popular with executive buyers, could be an option for those considering a used purchase.
With a range of extras including a Bose sound system, cruise control, electric front seat adjustment, climate control and six airbags - all standard on the entry-level Elegence model - the CTS can be seen as something of a bargain, he concludes.
It is estimated that a pre-owned 2005 Elegance model can be purchased on the private market from around £11,000 - which may give car finance customers some idea of how much they could save in comparison to the CTS' German rivals.
