Motorists should be sure to look after the tyres of their vehicles as summer approaches, a safety organisation has claimed.
According to TyreSafe, tread depth, wheel conditions and air pressure should all be assessed before drivers embark on any trips this season.
Car finance customers should also look to keep their tyres within the minimum tread of 1.6mm required by law, the organisation added.
It could be that this is a particular issue for people taking out used car loans, as older vehicles may be carrying worn tyres.
"Motorists preferring to have their tyres checked professionally can take their vehicle to any reputable tyre retailer, who will be able to provide tyre safety advice and information," commented TyreSafe.
Established 16 years ago as the Tyre Industry Council, TyreSafe is a not-for-profit organisation informing drivers on how best to maintain their wheels.
