The Toyota iQ could be a good choice for car credit customers looking for a small model which feels spacious, it has been suggested.
According to the manufacturer, the vehicle possesses Tardis-like qualities.
It stated the specially-designed dashboard was one factor which allowed more room inside the car.
The company explained the asymmetrical dashboard freed up extra space ahead of the front passenger seat - an extra 130 mm compared with the Toyota Yaris.
It commented: "This means the passenger seat can be slid 50 mm further forward than the driver's seat, allowing a tall adult to sit comfortably in the seat behind."
Earlier this month, the iQ came out on top in Japan's Car of the Year awards, beating off competition from the Citroen C5, the Jaguar XF and the Audi A4.
The model is due to arrive in showrooms across the UK on January 6th 2009 and is available to order now.
