There was an increase in the number of new cars produced in the UK over the course of July, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Car credit customers may be interested to know that the group has reported that some 131,079 vehicles came off production lines around Britain as the month progressed.
This is in addition to the 955,670 models already produced in the UK during 2008.
Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive, commented that the production of the new Nissan Qashqai+2 in Sunderland will add to this amount.
"It is expected that the Sunderland plant will produce around 270,000 of both versions of Qashqai in 2008 and an estimated 450,000 vehicles will come off the line in total," he said.
This comes after figures produced by the body earlier this month which show that new car registrations in the UK fell by 13 per cent during July.
