This week sees the environmentally-friendly Smart fortwo vehicle turn ten years old.
Around 900,000 people have picked up the model in 37 countries since it was first put together in Hambach, France in 1998.
Car finance customers may use the car as a means of reducing their carbon footprint, finding places to park more easily or simply because they enjoy the aesthetics.
Dr Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of management for owners Daimler AG as well as head of Mercedes-Benz cars, hailed the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
He said: "The Smart fortwo is a clever solution and fun to drive. Had we not invented it ten years ago, we would have to do so now."
This comes as Daimler has revealed that it will be fitting a new component to Smart fortwos in the future.
From October, a micro-hybrid start-stop system will be added to new cars by default.
