Skoda is to offer car loans customers an updated version of the car that Top Gear magazine called "a masterpiece of dependability".
Auto Express reports this week that the manufacturer is to bring back the Octavia marque with a revised model that will target the budget saloon market with a price tag of under £10,000.
The magazine reports that at this time details are thin on the ground as to what the car will offer, but notes that it is likely to be "reasonably equipped" with air conditioning and electric windows and will rival models from Kia and Hyundai.
"The newcomer is likely to share some of its design and engineering with the recently confirmed SEAT Bolero," the site suggested, adding that a range of proven engines from Skoda's parent company Volkswagen are likely to feature.
Skoda's Octavia took the third place in Top Gear magazine's ten best of the year survey in 2006.
