Rallye Sport (RS) products are globally renown, with success being witnessed not only in the marketplace but also on the motor racing track, Ford has claimed.
Each of the 21 unique models developed over the past 38 years has treated consumers to a fantastic road experience, with the performance, safety and style of each never doubted, it said.
Designers have continually pushed themselves in search of the great heights of motoring perfection – the result being a state-of–the-art vehicle range which not only oozes class but also offers outstanding value for money.
The RS badge was first applied to the 1970 Ford Escort RS1600, a successful rally car and the first Ford to contain a 16-valve twin-overhead-camshaft engine.
Since then the popularity of the range has only grown, with products including the Ford Escort RS2000, the Sierra RS Cosworth and Ford Fiesta all becoming market favourites.
The pleasure derived from driving a Rallye Sport sports car can surely not be doubted.
Motorsport fans may know that the Sierra RS Cosworth RS500 won the World Touring Car Championship in 1987.
