Former Top Gear presenter Quentin Willson has caused fuel efficiency experts Paramount Performance to be inundated with orders.
Mr Willson fitted one of Paramount Performance's plug and play economy units to his Turbo Diesel Range Rover and claimed fuel economy improved from 23mpg to 31mpg.
When he told ITV Tonight viewers of his surprise, Paramount Performance was swamped by emails and phonecalls about their performance modifications which cost around £300.
Car loan customers may be interested to know that Paramount Performance claims virtually any vehicle can have its performance improved.
The company's managing director Paul Busby said: "Quentin is seen as the motorists champion and if he says something works, thats good enough for them."
"With the price of diesel still rising, the timing of the programme couldnt have been better," he added.
According to Mr Willson's website, he was largely responsible for knocking £2 billion of the car industry's balance sheet after campaigning for cars in the UK to be priced at the same level as their European counterparts.
