Motorists may have a new reason to take out car finance with the launch of the latest version of Proton's GEN-2 hatchback.
The new model boasts a "sporty" interior, while the design of the car's dash and handbrake has been overhauled.
Drivers can also benefit from automatic central locking and a boot release system operated by remote control, the firm said.
Meanwhile, the GEN-2 GSX model "ups the sophistication level" and offers "sweeping curves accentuated by a new rear spoiler".
Car loan customers with a taste for racier models may be interested to know that the GSX also comes with alloy wheels and black-backed headlamps "complete the look".
Proton produced its first car in 1983 and has grown to export cars to over 50 countries around the world.
The firm, which was originally created by former Malaysian prime minister Dato Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad, considers the UK, Australia and Singapore to be "key export markets".
