A billboard advert for the new Chevrolet Aveo was mobbed by cash strapped Londoners when they discovered it was made entirely from pennies.
The installation, unveiled on Londons' Oxford Road was made from 20,000 pennies and lasted 30 minutes.
Unfortunately hard-up Londoners would have been better off taking out a car loan or car credit as they would have needed more than 38 of the cars in the advert to pay for a brand new Aveo.
Chevrolet's Les Turton said: "There have been some great car adverts before, but none that has stopped traffic and actually put money back into the motorist’s pocket so this is certainly a first."
"We're glad we've topped up lots of people's wallets," he added.
The campaign was to promote the price of Chevrolet's Aveo, which is 769,500p or £7,695.
According to Motorpoint, car loan customers purchasing new vehicles are defying the credit crunch in record numbers.
