The Sexy Green Car Show at Cornwall's Eden Project was the venue for two auto manufacturers to show off their latest eco-friendly models this week.
It is reports that Ford took the opportunity to make its own contribution to the show with the ECOnetic version of its Ford Focus and added that similar versions of the Mondeo and Fiesta could follow.
The company claims the 114g/km car will address current demand from car finance customers for greener driving options and is expected to hit forecourts with a £16,050 price tag.
Saab also unveiled its 9-X BioHybrid model at the event, with Saab UK's general manager of sales and marketing, David Pugh, suggesting that the manufacturer would continue to push for greener auto technology.
"We cannot give up the challenge of making biofuels a viable alternative to fossil fuels just because there is a whole lot of confusion around about the alleged conflicts with food production," he said.
