The used car market has continued to remain robust, according to recent research.
Easier motoring reports that BCA's latest Pulse data for last month reveals that average used car values for April were £5,406 - which the site notes is "virtually unchanged" from the March figure of £5,400.
Commenting on the report, BCA's communications director Tony Gannon said that although market confidence in the used sector was "fragile" the quality and variety available was reason for optimism.
"In reality, prices on well-presented and nicely specified retail-quality cars were maintained in April," he said.
Earlier this week, chief executive of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Paul Everitt, said the new car market was performing well and that "more people are moving to small cars and cleaner diesel models".
This was followed by comments from Parker's Car Price Guide, which suggested models such as Fiat's Grande Punto, Renault's new Megane and the Jeep Patriot as model worth a look.
