Chevrolet has announced its new Camaro will be converted to right-hand drive for the European market.
Motoring enthusiasts will get their first chance to see the 400bhp 6.0-litre V8 drop-top car at the London Motor Show in July.
Wayne Brannon, chief executive of Chevrolet Europe, told Autocar: "We can have a maximum of 1,000 right-hand-drive coupes, and 1,000 right-hand drive cabriolets, so the UK should get a good number of models.
Chevrolet has been pushing its cars as budget vehicles and car loan customers will be delighted to hear that there will be a large model range available.
American car enthusiasts can already get a "poverty-pack" version of the vehicle for around £10,000, according to evo.
The company is likely to reveal whether the Camaro is to be branded with a Chevrolet badge at the London Motor Show, or whether it will remain a standalone brand.
In order to preserve its budget philosophy Chevrolet has so far not branded cars intended for the European market, but insiders told Autocar that with plans to expand the range on the horizon the new Camaro is likely to be sold as a Chevrolet through Chevrolet dealerships.
