A crackdown on motorists in Scotland has seen a number caught using their mobile phones behind the wheel, car loans customers may be interested to hear.
The Edinburgh Evening News has stated that some 313 drivers were found breaking the law this way, with 24 caught in the Lothian and Borders region.
Chief Superintendent Michael McCormick from the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland remarked that he was "concerned" with the number of motorists flouting the law.
"Our officers are on the roads 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year, enforcing road traffic safety laws for the benefit of all road users," said the official.
This comes after legislation brought in by the Department for Transport in February 2007 which means those caught breaking the law in such a manner could pick up a £60 fine or three-point licence penalty.
