The popularity of the Mercedes Smart car seems to be undamaged as a spokeswoman for the manufacturer has revealed the car was "mobbed" at a recent event.
This year's 2008 News Sentinel Auto Show played host to the launch of the German manufacturer's latest Smart model - and according to Kristin Gracy of Mercedes Smart was popular with many.
"We were mobbed at the opening," the Associated Press reports Ms Gracy said. "The funny thing is that they are mostly men."
It is reported that the latest version of the popular car, which could make an ideal purchase for car finance customers looking for a small and economic vehicle, will be 5.1 feet high and 8.8 feet long.
Also noted is the car's ability to achieve 41 miles to a gallon of petrol when it is used on a major roads or motorways - boosting its environmental credentials for green consumers with guaranteed car finance.
The Smart's latest fortwo model has a Euro NCAP Adult Occupant protection rating of four stars.
