Mazda has announced that it will boost its range of small cars this week, making a new version of the Mazda2 available to those with car finance.
According to reports, the new car will be available for an on-the-road price of £7,999 for the entry-level three-door TS 1.3 petrol model.
The manufacturer claims that this makes the new Mazda2 "one of the most price-competitive small cars in the UK" and adds that the decision to boost the company's range in this way follows the success of the five-door model.
Mark Cameron, Mazda's UK marketing director, said: "Demand for the new Mazda2 five-door has been greater than we anticipated and the arrival of the new three-door model will accelerate sales to a much higher level."
It is claimed that the new model will carry the same level of features that fans of its sibling have come to expect, as well as offering a low CO2 emissions level.
Last year, Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the five-door model for the Times, stating that despite his lack of concern for emissions, the car was "excellent".
