A new engine technology from Hyundai could be of interest to car loans customers looking for power and economy.
The South Korean auto manufacturer has announced details of two new diesel motors that it claims can outdo a number of its rivals from both France and Germany.
Both the two and 2.2-litre R-Engines are said to have the capacity to "comfortably beat the power outputs" of any models currently on offer from either country in the same league, offering 184PS/392Nm and 200PS/436Nm respectively.
Dr Hyun-Soon Lee, president of corporate research and development at the motor company, said both engines prove that Hyundai is capable of offering "world-class" diesel power.
"With diesels becoming cleaner and more fuel efficient all the time, there's a growing demand for diesel powerplants worldwide and Hyundai is well positioned to supply the market with the very best," he said.
Diesel-powered models in the current Hyundai range which are available to those with guaranteed car finance include the Getz, i30, Matrix, Sonata, Santa and i800.
