The world's greenest car, which boasts the lowest CO2 emissions of any mass produced model, is on its way to Britain.
Mercedes-Benz's smart fortwo cdi diesel, which emits 88g/km of CO2, will be available from February next year.
The cars fuel efficiency means it can do 85.6 miles per gallon, or 670 miles on a full tank of diesel – making it an economical choice for car loan customers.
Dermot Kelly, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said: "The cdi gives customers the whole range of smart benefits when driving in and around the city, with the added bonus of low cost, long distance motoring."
With a 45bhp three-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine, the cdi has a top speed of just under 84 miles per hour.
Mecedes has not announced the price of its new smart car, but car loan customers can pick one up for less than £10,000 on the net.
