More new Ford Focuses than any other car were registered in England in April, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Some 7,244 Ford Focuses were registered, followed by the Vauxhall Corsa (6,939), the Vauxhall Astra (6,666), Ford Fiesta (4,837) and the Volkswagen Golf (4,812).
Vauxhall dominated the top ten highest registrations with four entries, also including its Vectra and Zafira, Ford had three entries.
More new cars were registered across the UK as a whole this year than last year - 143,221 compared to 147,755 - though in Northern Ireland figures were only up by seven cars to 5,413.
Many of these cars will have been bought via a car loan or a car finance deal.
Each new vehicle off the production line was made using less than half the energy of cars made five years ago, the SMMT added.
The Focus has recently been redesigned to have a sportier or "athletic" look, Ford states on its website.
