Ford has resurrected one of its most beloved and iconic models, according to an article for Auto Express.
The magazine reports that the manufacturer has unveiled images of a new version of its Capri, although it has not been confirmed if the car will go into mass production any time soon.
However, with affordable coupes "experiencing a real renaissance" of late and Ford having successes with a number of other vehicles, the magazine adds that "the stage is set for the Capri to make its stunning comeback".
It is also noted that Volkswagen's revived Scirocco, Toyota's planned Celica replacement and the Audi A5 would represent stiff competition for the car in attempting to get car loans customers to part with their cash.
"But while there will be an army of rivals, the Capri will certainly have style in its favour," the article concludes.
The Mk 3 version of the Capri was perhaps the most revered of the car's incarnations finding fame in the hit 80s TV series The Professionals - with both main characters driving one.
