Drivers who clock up the most miles in their used cars are most likely to be behind the wheel of a Ford Mondeo, a new survey has suggested.
According to the study, put together by Warranty Direct, drivers of the manufacturer's popular large saloon run up an average of 15,483 miles every year, which according to Motors Today is around 700 miles more than second place Saab 9-5 drivers.
Behind the Mondeo and 9-5 models, drivers of the Renault Laguna, Volkswagen Passat and Seat Alhambra were next in line as spending the most time on the road
The top ten least used models included the Daewoo Matiz and Nissan Micra, which one spokesman for Warranty Direct said could be important to those with car finance.
Duncan McClure Fisher of the firm said: "For example, you may find a four-year-old Nissan Micra with 30,000 miles on the clock … [but] with a bit of shopping around you could probably find even better."
Last year, Jeremy Clarkson said of the Mondeo Titanium X model that Ford had done "an outstanding job" with the design and build of the new car, the Times reports.
