The success of Fiat's 500 has led to the marquee attempting to revive another of its past models.
According to Auto Express, Fiat aims to bring back the Topolino as a compact city car that will act as a smaller sibling to the popular 500.
It is reported that the new car, which could be based loosely on the Topolino - which originally emerged in 1937, will come with "large, bold headlights and a neat lower grille" that echo the manufacturer's most recent models.
The magazine adds that the car could rival a number of similarly-sized cars including the VW up! and Toyota iQ and that the Topolino's three metre body means it could also be up against the Smart ForTwo.
"As with the up!, the Topolino will be rear-wheel drive and have its engine mounted underneath the boot. This allows engineers to maximise interior space and ensure the car complies with crash regulations," the article adds.
