Car finance customers seem keen to enter the market for new vehicles following a report which notes European sales are up.
Despite recent instability in the economy and fears over the credit crunch, Motor Trader reports European registrations of new cars during the month of April increased by 9.6 per cent on the previous month.
It is noted that the number of units sold for the month was 1.42 million and according to Ernst & Youngs UK automotive specialist Eric Wallbank, represents a sign of the resilience of the new car market.
"The European automotive sector appears to have been largely untouched by the current economic turmoil," the site reports he said.
Motor Trader reported earlier in the month that new car sales for April in the UK alone had seen an increase of 3 per cent - adding that the figures for the first quarter of 2008 were as strong as the same period in 2007.
