The number of cars being dumped by drivers in the UK who no longer have a use for them has fallen, new statistics have shown.
Figures from the Local Government Association (LGA) show that 84 per cent fewer vehicles have been left behind by East Midlands motorists in the last four years.
A further 80 per cent fall was recorded in the east of England, along with a 77 per cent drop in activity in the south-west, car credit customers may be interested to know.
Paul Bettison, chairman of the environment board and LGA councillor, stated that a three-pronged approach has been developed to tackle the problem.
He said: "People tell us that these eyesores make them feel unsafe in their own neighbourhood and figures like these show councils up and down the country are working hard to make people feel safe and secure."
