Car loans customers in the market for a spacious, energy-efficient vehicle could be interested in the latest What Diesel? Car of the Year Awards.
It has emerged that this years honour for Best Used Estate at the ceremony was given to Swedish car manufacturer Volvo for its 2000-2007 V70 model - and according to carpages.co.uk, the competition was stiff.
The website reports that the V70 held off contenders such as BMW's 320d Touring and Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI Estate to go home with the prize and What Diesel? editor Ian Robertson said this was down to a number of factors.
"The V70 estate is an absolute legend, offering immense carrying capacity, coupled with Volvo's impressive safety record," he said.
Motor Trend reports that other winners at the event included the Fiat 500 (Best Small Car), Nissan's Qashqai (Best Medium Family Car) and the Ford Mondeo (Best Large Family Car). The overall winner on the night was Jaguar's XF, which took the title award.
