People currently contemplating using car credit to update their vehicle may want to consider the Renault Clio Sport Tourer.
According to the manufacturer, the model's recent performance at the MPG Marathon makes it a good choice for anyone wanting to cut motoring costs.
The vehicle recorded a 27 per cent improvement in fuel economy over the two-day event, which incorporated a 400-mile round trip from Bristol to Macclesfield.
Renault claimed the result was achieved through smarter driving, which involves techniques such as not over-revving when moving off from traffic lights.
Richard Bremner from Clean Green Cars drove the model and he said: "The Clio Sport Tourer was one of the bigger cars in its class, but nevertheless managed 81.9 mpg - and without going painfully slowly."
Car credit customers may also be interested tohear Renault signed an agreement with the company EDF earlier this month in a bid to become the number one producer of zero emission vehicles.
