Drivers looking for car finance to secure a new or used vehicle would be better off turning to the internet if they have a poor credit history, according to the LA Chronicle.
It is suggested that many people find financing through a dealership to be too expensive and traditional high street lenders have lending criteria that those seeking bad credit car loans may not be able to meet.
However, in an article for the publication, Jessica Peterson advises that using the internet to secure a car loan can offer a solution for these people.
"The credit requirements [for online lenders] are relaxed and anyone can get approved for a car loan as long as there are no major delinquencies in their recent credit history," Ms Peterson states.
She adds that in some cases "someone with bad credit, no credit at all or even a past bankruptcy" can often find a deal that can suit their needs.
Which? recently reported on a number of new cars that were available to drivers with car loans including Honda's "slightly unusual" FR-V and Kia's "good value" CRDi.
