Peugeot's diesel-powered 308 HDi model has set two new world records which may interest car loans customers looking for a fuel-efficient new car.
It is reported that the car has taken the title of furthest distance travelled on a full tank of fuel.
Peugeot's 307 hatchback previously held the first record, but it is the latter that will be of the most concern to car finance customers in a market where efficiency is becoming the key selling point of a vehicle.
The car was driving along the coast of Australia by husband and wife John and Helen Taylor and it clocked up a total of 1,192 miles using 60 litres of diesel.
"We were very aware of the strong environmental credentials of the 308 before we set out on this journey, but we had no idea, however, that it would be such a record breaker," Mr Taylor said.
Last year, Auto Express praised the 308 HDi, stating that the car "drives cleanly and smoothly".
