People considering taking out a car loan for a second-hand vehicle may be well-advised to opt for a Renault Clio, according to a group of industry experts.
The model has just scooped the title of best supermini in Auto Express's annual used car awards.
Beating competition in the shape of the Honda Jazz, the Fiat Grande Punto and the Ford Fiesta, the magazine was especially impressed by the vehicle's stylish appearance, wide range of engine choices, low running costs and good fuel economy.
Former used car dealer turned TV presenter Mike Brewer, who was on the judging panel, said: "The Renault is fine-looking with a great image and fun handling."
He also stated that although some of its rivals had great features, the Clio was found to be the most desirable, particularly among younger motorists.
Renault said the success of all its vehicles was down to the fact it continually worked at makingimprovements.
In 2009 is due to launch a revised Scenic range.
