New research has revealed that car finance continues to be a popular option among customers, despite the ongoing credit crunch.
According to car supermarket group Motorpoint, 53 per cent of motorists it surveyed said they planned to use car finance to make purchase their next vehicle.
Motorpoint noted that a recent survey from the Finance and Leasing Association found that 49 per cent of all new private car sales are completed due to lending from motor dealers.
The company said that one in three cars that it sells is done so through such car finance arrangements.
In related news, a recent poll by webuyanycar.com recently found that the costs involved in advertising put many people off selling their cars privately.
Of the 30,000 people surveyed, 34 per cent said "spending time and money on advertising" is the main reason they avoid doing so.
A further, 22 per cent said the amountof time waiting for responses from adverting was the most off-putting thing about private sales.
