London's mayor Boris Johnson has dropped amendments to the London congestion charge that would see Chelsea tractors taxed for gas-guzzling.
The proposed plans to increase the congestion charge to £25 for large, inefficient vehicles, introduced by former mayor Ken Livingstone, were due to start in October.
Small fuel efficient vehicles on the other hand would have seen their £8 congestion rescinded.
Porsche, which has been challenging the increase in the courts will have its legal cost paid for by Transport for London now the amendments have been dropped.
Andy Goss, managing director of Porsche, told the Times: "We were always confident that our legal case was right and that we would win in the end."
"The charge was clearly unfair and was actually going to increase emissions in London," he added.
Car loan customers may be interested to know that if they own anelectric car or one that runs on alternative fuel, they can apply for a discount with the Transport for London.
