People considering using car finance to trade in their current motor for a more environmentally-friendly model may want to bear the Toyota Prius in mind after it scooped a prize this week.
The model came out on top at the British Technology Awards, where it drove away with the title of Greenest Technology of the Year.
As well as doing their bit for the planet, Prius owners are also exempt from the central London congestion charge and some local authorities are considering offering them cheaper parking permits.
Popular among members of the Hollywood elite, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz, the car is possibly the best-recognised green vehicle on the UK's roads.
The British Technology Awards are designed to provide an insight into the country's digital lifestyle.
Members of the public get to vote for their favourite gizmos and gadgets online.
Other winners at the event includedthe Apple iPhone, the Nintendo Wii and BBC iPlayer.
