Toyota is among the Japanese auto manufacturers that will be celebrating this week having been honoured at the Warranty Direct Used Car of the Year Awards 2008.
It is reported that Toyota's Avensis Verso won the main award at the event as well as picking up the title of Best Used MPV, which could be of interest to used car finance customers looking for the right vehicle.
According to motorstoday.co.uk, other Japanese cars were praised at the event with Honda scooping the Best Used Small Family Car award for the Civic and the Best Used Supermini title for the Jazz.
Nissan's X-Trail was named in the 4x4 category and BMW won the Best Executive section for the 5 Series and Best Convertible for the Z3.
Best Used Family Car went to the Ford Mondeo and Best Compact Exec was the Audi A4. However, Warranty Direct managing director, Duncan McClure Fisher, said the event belonged to the Japanese contenders.
"Not only are [Japanese cars] consistently the most reliable cars on the road, but they clearly tick all the right boxes when it comes to appealing to the buying public."
The Skoda Octavia was named Best Used Car by readers of AM Magazine last month.
