More than half of motorists in the UK find it difficult to buy a new car using the internet, according to new research.
A study conducted by FindsYou.com has found that 59 per cent of people are left unsatisfied when they purchase online.
Car credit customers could benefit more from an automated system that allows dealers to replenish stock as it runs out.
This method, recommended by the company, would provide the "perfect solution" for those looking for a new car, according to FindsYou.com chief executive Guy Walker.
He said: "The credit crunch and environmental issues mean that car buyers are well researched and know exactly what they want to buy."
This comes after recent research conducted by the Finance and Leasing Association found that car finance deals were being used to fund the purchase of 50 per cent of new cars this year.
